GMeRitS is a research consortium of universities and real-life economic experiments.  Our vision is to create seeds and saplings for a new, more efficient and fairer version of economic structures that allow humanity to work more efficiently, save scarce resources and share new inventions. Our work is based on the observation that data and most other purely digital goods are “anti-rival” in their nature, i.e., in Nobel Prize winner Elinor Ostrom’s terms, they are products that have negative subtractability. They are products that gain value while being used, while most other products wear out or get consumed, losing value while being used.
